The calendar may say June 7, but thanks to Tengger Cavalry, let's go ahead and celebrate "Independence Day." The band is teaming up with Loudwire to bring you the exclusive premiere of their new "Independence Day" video.

The song is a personal one for the band, speaking on the themes of racial discrimination, identity conflicts and equal rights issues, all with a completely entrancing and heavy beat. The clip itself is more of a performance piece with the band's members surrounded by visuals of chains and embers from a glowing fire.

Singer Nature G says of the track, “Growing up in China and seeing what the regime has done to its citizens to suppress their individuality, free speech and activism through education has awoken me to how other countries and their leaders treat their citizens. These leaders force their people into becoming sheep-like, afraid to stand up to authority. Speaking up and challenging mainstream thought is considered dishonorable."

He continues, "The issue gets darker when cultural influence is involved. Politically, China attempted to deny any acknowledgment of immigration history from the Mongolian grassland, which existed for one thousand or more years, because the government decided they wanted ONE identity for everyone. This was a downgrade and destruction of nomadic culture through Chinese propaganda. The Chinese culture, especially in the North, are and were always largely influenced by nomadic culture, from food to language to clothing. However, the Chinese deny the historical influence from Mongolian culture and claim that is always been a subculture of Chinese culture, when infect, history shows that they influence and interact with each other."

"Back to this song, 'Independence Day,' Revolutionary War-era patriots of the U.S. were smart and brave enough to stand up to the regime, to claim their land and most importantly, to claim their identity. They were able to create a government and life that was vastly different from the monarch rule of Great Britain. It saddens me that even coming from those origins, inhabitants of this country are still letting things slide and pretending as if everything is just fine. We ignore the atrocities happening right in front of us – such as minorities being seen as less than other citizens because of their skin color and those of a different sexual identity being discriminated for just attempting be who they are – and a leader who seems to be passive about it all," continues the singer.

He concludes, "After experiencing life both in China and the U.S., I decided to write 'Independence Day.' It is an anthem for anyone who embraces their independent identity, fights for the truth and speaks up against any manipulator. We are all sons and daughters of the sky and we all have the right to decide who we want to become!”
