The Darkness already surprised fans with their reunion announcement in March of last year, but the glam-rockers surprised millions tonight (Feb. 5) with an appearance in a Super Bowl commercial for Samsung. In Samsung's well-known parody commercials making fun of Apple's "hipster" customers, The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins dawned his famous one-piece for the Super Bowl commercial.

As the parodied Apple hipsters waited in line for the next big product, Samsung showed off their Galaxy Note phone and an allegiance to the rock world with the Darkness' magnum opus 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love.' After one of the hipsters spat out the angst-ridden line, "I don't know what I believe in anymore." What a perfect opportunity for Hawkins it was to come out and show the world what in fact they can believe in.

The commercial showcased rockers dancing in the streets, skateboarders nailing kick-flips down massive flights of stairs and even someone being shot out of a cannon. Winner for best Super Bowl commercial of 2012? We say absolutely!

Stay tuned for our upcoming review of the Darkness in concert, as the band will be invading New York City tomorrow night (Feb. 6).
