There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes at a concert before you ever take your seat in the venue, and through a time-lapse video, Quad Cities' 97X FM is giving you a look at the assembly and tear-down of Nickelback's production from their recent performance at the iWireless Center in Moline, Ill.

In the clip above, you can see the crew change the hockey rink where the local Quad City Mallards play to the eventual rocking venue where Nickelback were able to bring their show to the fine folks of Illinois.

In addition, frontman Chad Kroeger chatted with 97X hosts Dwyer and Michaels for a two-segment interview in which they touched on everything from the band's fans to Kroeger's respect for Dimebag Darrell and Metallica to the band's love of the hit Canadian show The Trailer Park Boys.

Kroeger also discussed being one of the most polarizing acts in rock and dealing with critical backlash. The vocalist explained, "Critics, it's not cool to like Nickelback, right? A critic would be ostracized from the critic club if they wrote anything nice about us. We've made eight albums, been a band for 19 years, still touring, still making records, still having a blast doing it, so it really doesn't matter what they say. The haters are gonna hate. But if you're gonna make fun of the band, do a good job."

He went on to add that he's aware of the haters and the band themselves actually enjoy some of the more humorous comments. "We are the most self-deprecating band out there. We rip on ourselves, but at least when we do it, it's clever. It's funny. We've got a great sense of humor, so if you're gonna rip on the band and it's funny, we're gonna laugh," says Kroeger. "We leave a lot of those things up on YouTube because if we think it's funny, it's funny. But at the end of the day, mean is just mean. And anyone who just constantly says, 'You suck, you suck, you suck,' it just doesn't mean anything after a while. It just carries no weight. And those are the people that are just really unhappy with their own lives and don't have anything going on. They're bummed out at the way things have turned out and to them, everything sucks."
