AC/DC Get Their Game On With ‘Play Ball’ Video
AC/DC are back in action, even though that action is shot against a green screen. The band provides a performance-based clip for their new single 'Play Ball,' with plenty of sporting action filling the background.
The clip features a mixture of old and current sporting footage, featuring a sharp-shooting pool player pulling off trick shots around a lovely lady; a female football league and sports-playing animals among other featured performers.
Meanwhile, frontman Brian Johnson and guitarist Angus Young, still sporting the schoolboy uniform, are at the forefront of the performance. As recently revealed, drummer Phil Rudd was not part of the video shoot. He was reportedly called away on a family matter while Bob Richards of Shogun filled in on drums.
Rudd has been under fire of late as it was initially reported that he was arrested in an alleged murder-for-hire plot. Those charges were eventually dropped, but he's still facing charges of "threatening to kill" as well as possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.
AC/DC will release their 'Rock or Bust' album next month and they've already issued a statement that Rudd's absence will not affect the release of their new album nor their plans to tour in 2015.
