Architects’ Sam Carter + His Fiancee Wrote a Children’s Book About Their Adopted Pet Dog Sophia
Architects frontman Sam Carter and his fiancée Abby Kirk have written a children's book about their adopted fox dog Sophia. It's called "Sophia Fox Dog Gets Adopted."
In 2016, Sophia was rescued from a Romanian animal shelter after previously living on the street as a stray, according to the very first post on the cute-as-hell dog's Instagram page, which dates back to April 11 of 2016.
Over 450 posts later, it was announced that a book was written in Sophia's honor by her loving owners.
Carter exclaimed, "I’m so extremely excited to announce that myself and my fiancé [sic] have written a children’s book starring none other than Sophia. This is something I’ve always wanted to do and I’m so stoked that we’re doing it!"
The idea for the book came while Kirk "was working in a school with many children who had been in foster care or through the adoption process." Upon noting that stories such as these are not often represented in the realm of children's books, the couple elected to author their own story to help demonstrate to the students "that their stories were important too."
"The story also aims to teach children to think about what rescue dogs may have gone through in the past before finding their adoptive families. This is a cause close to our hearts and large portion of the proceeds will go to Wunder Dog Rescue and Romanian Rescue Appeal to help more dogs like Sophia find their forever families," Carter's statement continued.
Also available for purchase is a plush Sophia toy and you can even get a signed card from Sam and Abby as well as a pawprint from Sophia. The book is set for an April 15 release and you can head here to buy a copy.
