Bring Me the Horizon’s Oli Sykes Wore a Cannibal Corpse Shirt With Backstreet Boys at the Grammys
Bring Me the Horizon posted a photo on Instagram earlier (Feb. 10) from a Grammy party with the Backstreet Boys. Singer Oli Sykes wore a Cannibal Corpse shirt, and the band captioned the photo, "We weren't the heaviest band at the party." See the post below.
Is Sykes trying to make a statement? Bring Me the Horizon has been receiving a lot of backlash for their latest album amo due to its experimental nature. Some of the songs featured pop artists and beatboxers, bringing a whole new dynamic to the metal band's sound. "Heavy Metal" specifically addresses metalheads who are disappointed with the change with the lyrics, "I'm afraid you don't love me anymore / 'Cause a kid on the 'gram in a Black Dahlia tank says it ain't heavy metal." amo sold roughly 16,000 copies in the United States in its first week, debuting at No. 14 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Though rock and metal haven't been getting much TV love at the Grammys, you can see what other rock and metal artists wore to the awards ceremony here.
