Beartooth’s Caleb Shomo Plays ‘Would You Rather?’

Would you rather be really late for a show or mess up onstage?

I hate both, really bad, it depends. If I still got to play, I would probably rather be later to the show – granted if I was five hours late and ruining everybody’s day then I would just rather play and screw up and get it over with. If it was where we were doing a headlining show and playing 10 or 11 songs then I would rather show up a half hour late and still do the set really well.

Would you rather be in the studio or on tour?

They’re both completely necessary. I love both of them equally, they’re just two completely different things. When I’m on the road, I want to be in the studio and when I’m in the studio I want to be on the road. It’s just kind of a give and take.

Would you rather have a massive bank account or a massive fanbase?

[Laughs] I don’t know, I’m not too concerned about either. Probably a fanbase, a group of people I can share my music with, it’d be pretty cool.

Would you rather have an accordion for legs or drumsticks for hands?

[Laughs] Probably drumsticks for hands, an accordion for legs you’d be a little immobilized. The drumsticks for hands would be fun.

Would you rather have lunch with a music icon who has passed or a music icon who is currently alive? (Who would it be and why?)

Man, I don’t know. It would probably be Frank Sinatra back in his heyday, that’s one of them who would be pretty cool. I would talk to that dude and get to know him.

Would you rather be an ‘80s rock band in present day or would you rather be Beartooth in the ‘80s?

[Laughs] I would like to be Beartooth in the ‘80s for sure. I just like what I do, I wouldn’t want to give it up.

Would you rather marry Ozzy or Lemmy?

[Laughs] I’ll go with Lemmy just because Lemmy’s a total badass. Don’t get me wrong, Ozzy’s a badass, as well.
