The members of Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Poison attended a press conference yesterday (Dec. 4) in Hollywood to discuss their upcoming 2020 trek, The Stadium Tourwhich will also feature Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on the bill. As reported by Rolling Stone, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott explained that the tour will prove the '80s aren't mockable.

"You just put those four names on a piece of paper and look at ’em, whichever way ’round they look at it, it’s a big statement really," the vocalist said. "And you know, the '80s get mocked a lot. There is a lot of people that still think of the '80s as a mockable decade, and we’re about to prove that it’s not."

The tour will span 22 dates in cities all over the U.S., and will mark the return of Motley Crue, who swore off touring after 2015. The expedition will be co-headlined by Crue and Def Leppard, with Joan Jett and Poison as the openers. All four acts saw their biggest success in the '80s, though they've mostly stayed together throughout the decades since then.

"It’s last man standing to a point, maybe, but we have survived... You can sit and analyze it all you like, but at the end of the day, if the songs are still getting played on the radio, there’s a reason for that. It’s because they were good songs," Elliott affirmed, adding that there's a potential the tour could expand into the following year if the demand is high enough.

Jett was absent from the press conference, but Rolling Stone notes that her name was mentioned frequently, emphasizing her importance to the tour. See a photo from the meeting below.
