As we reported a few months ago, Duff McKagan's latest book How To Be a Man (And Other Illusions) is set to be released May 12. Now the rocker has announced some East Coast book signing dates.

McKagan, who has a been a member of numerous bands over the years such as Guns N’ RosesVelvet Revolver,  Loaded and Walking Papers, will be holding signing sessions May 11 at Bookends in Ridgewood, N.J.; May 12 at the Strand Bookstore in New York City; and May 13 at Book Revue in Long Island.

The book was spawned by one of McKagan's columns in Seattle Weekly.  “There was one column that was called ‘How to Be a Man,’ and it was kind of tongue in cheek. It was really tongue in cheek," McKagan recalls.. "And I got a book deal from that column."

McKagan continues, "It’s a how-to guide of things I’ve learned about life — being a dad, being a husband and being in a rock band. And it’s, like, a city guide in it, but a very tongue-in-cheek guide, like how I see cities. It’s got all kinds of stuff and other stories and hopefully it’s gonna be a funny book.”

Some of the topics covered in the book include Guns N' Roses' induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and his reunion with Axl Rose for some South American shows along with the albums that every man should listen to and the books they should read.

McKagan also teams up with Ben Gibbard from Death Cab For Cutie to figure out an important math problem: if you've seen a million faces, is it truly possible to rock them all? In addition, he gives some great advice such as the importance of not being a d--k.
