Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz to Produce, Create Music for Snapchat Bipolar Musician Series
Snapchat have revealed the slate for their latest batch of original short form series and among them is a show that has Pete Wentz taking an active role in producing and creating original music.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the scripted comedy Everything's Fine has the Fall Out Boy bassist attached as a music supervisor, which will include some of his own works. The series, from Paul Feig's Powderkeg, will take a closer look at a college student dealing with bipolar disorder while trying to make it in the music industry.
"Mental health is something we think a lot about at the company," says Snapchat's head of original content Sean Mills. "We believe in telling great compelling stories with that in mind in different ways. It's an issue that our audience cares a lot about."
Wentz has a personal connection to the content of the series as he's dealt with bipolar disorder while maintaining a successful career with Fall Out Boy. “Living with purpose and having a schedule with my family has brought me balance,” Wentz told People back in 2018. “I think it can be different for everyone, but for me, just being able to talk through things, meditate and exercise has been helpful.”
While an official start date for Everything's Fine has yet to be revealed, all the new Snap Originals will debut on the app's Discover tab.
