Gerard Way fans, hold onto your hats! The former My Chemical Romance frontman and current comic book creator just celebrated the release of The Umbrella Academy's third collected volume Hotel Oblivion Sept. 17. But keep your eyes peeled — the creative mastermind already has Volume 4 in the works.

That's right. As the entertainer shared with social media followers this week, the trade paperback The Umbrella Academy Volume 3: Hotel Oblivion was "a long time in the making." (The edition collects Hotel Oblivion #1–7.) Still, he's confident "it won't be too long" before a new issue arrives.

"This one was a long time in the making," Way announced Tuesday. "Announced way back in 2009, a lot of things happened in between the announcement and the actual release of this … Over the years, there were some false starts and every time I came back to the project I had to make it new for myself, fine-tuning the themes and characters. I am very happy with the results and hope you enjoy it if you plan on checking it out."

He added, "Coincidentally, I just started Volume 4, so hopefully it won't be too long before a new issue hits the stands, seeing as how this volume ends on a major cliffhanger."

This summer, the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy — based on Way's comic universe — received two Emmy nominations. Previously, it was announced that Way's brother and fellow My Chemical Romance alum Mikey Way had his own comic book in the making. Earlier in the year, Gerard even divulged that certain Umbrella Academy characters were partially based on his My Chem bandmates.
