Guitar School With Dream Theater’s John Petrucci + Trivium’s Matt Heafy

Dream Theater and Trivium were touring together last year, and although the tour has ended, it seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. During the tour, Trivium’s Matt Heafy and Dream Theater’s John Petrucci teamed up for a four part web series for guitar players. The first segment of ‘Talking With John Petrucci of Dream Theater and Matt Heafy of Trivium’ is now available for guitar geeks and music enthusiasts alike!

The webisodes are pretty laid back and show Heafy and Petrucci talking shop and demonstrating different guitar techniques and playing exercises.

The first segment opens with Heafy admitting that he’s a fan of Petrucci’s ‘Rock Discipline’ instructional dvd and uses it religiously. He demonstrates one of the techniques he learned from it and asks for some feedback from Petrucci.

Trivium are currently gearing up for ‘The Still Reckless’ tour with Asking Alexandria and Dream Theater recently received a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance.
