Guns N’ Roses Keyboardist Dizzy Reed Goes Saloon Rock on New Song, Details Debut Solo Album
Ever since Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined Guns N' Roses, the band has been touring relentlessly around the world on their "...Not in This Lifetime" tour. There's been some talk about a potential new album with the current lineup, but we won't have to wait much longer before we hear something fresh from keyboardist Dizzy Reed as he's just announced his debut solo album, Rock N' Roll Ain't Easy.
The album is set to arrive on Feb. 16 through Golden Robot Records and kicks off with the song "This Don't Look Like Vegas" which can be heard below. It's a vintage saloon rock jam fueled by aggressive, striding riffs and Reed's jovial tickling of the ivory keys and whiskey-caked, street-cruising voice. Rounding out Reed on the track is Ricky Warwick (guitar, Black Star Riders), Mayuko Okai (guitar) Richard Fortus (guitar solo, Guns N' Roses) Mike Dupke (drums, ex-W.A.S.P.), Mike Duda (bass, W.A.S.P.) and backing vocalists Nadja Reed, Chela Johnson and Del James (Guns N' Roses manager).
For more details on the album, check out the artwork and track listing below.
While GN'R fans will hold strong hoping a new album will eventually surface, we've already heard new music from McKagan this year as well under Levee Walkers, the band he shared with members of Pearl Jam and Screaming Trees. Earlier this year, Richard Fortus said the band had begun writing new material and "assembling ideas," but had yet to enter the studio.
