Hypocrisy Bow Out of 2013 Spring North American Tour Due to Visa Issues

Swedish death metal legends Hypocrisy will not be spending the late spring in the States after all. The band, who had planned on coming to North American for shows with Krisiun, Arsis and Aborted, will remain at home after they were unable to get their visa approvals sorted out in time for the run.

The trek was expected to cover the entire month of May, but unfortunately their paperwork was not completed in time. According to a press release, the band members received their visa approvals and everything was going as planned until the embassy let them know that the earliest they would be allowed to pick up the documents and get them stamped wasn't until late June at the earliest.

A regular procedure that would normally take just a few days to sort out had been lengthened due to the current work overload that Homeland Security is experiencing at the moment.

Guitarist/vocalist Peter Tagtgren stated, "As we were getting ready to get our visas stamped and ready for the tour, we were informed that the earliest we could go initially was sometime in July. We then immediately continued to call them, got the label to help with some letters, and put our lawyer to work, etc. The best that got us was an appointment in late June. This is a huge blow to us, to our fans and everyone who has supported Hypocrisy in North America. Sometimes there are battles you can't win, and this is one of them. We will be back, I can promise that!"

Not only will Hypocrisy miss the trek, but Aborted have pulled out as well. Krisiun and Arsis still intend to keep up their tour obligations. The itinerary can be seen below.
