Insomnium Announce 2020 North American Tour, Release New Song

Insomnium will return to North America at the tail end of winter, spending March and April of 2020 touring their new album, Heart Like a Grave.

The Finnish melodeath masters will finish an extremely successful decade with Heart Like a Grave, marking their fourth album since 2011’s One of Sorrow. Insomnium will bring Omnium Gatherum and Seven Spires for the ride, beginning March 12 in Philadelphia and finishing April 18 in Halethorpe, Md. Venues will be announced soon.

Insomnium also just released a new video for “Valediction,” the first single from Heart Like a Grave. The melancholic song is cut with gorgeous woodland imagery and characters deep within the woods. The video is left open for interpretation, but in the spirit of Insomnium, sadness and introspection tend to rear their heads.

The clip was shot by Vesa Ranta and Aapo Lahtela of Kaira Films. ”When the album theme is to dive deep into the black waters of Finnish melancholy, then Vesa Ranta is truly the right man to visualize the story,” Insomnium rave. “Album booklet is crafted from Vesa’s epic landscape photos and these same themes continue in the two videos that we shot at Koli national park. Woods and lakes, sorrow and longing. That’s the heart of Insomnium.”
