You voted, we tallied and we have 16 great metal albums advancing to the second round of the 2014 March Metal Madness tournament. With 16 discs left in the battle for the Best Metal Album of the 21st Century, the competition is heating up.

Leading off this matchup in the Mosh Pit Region, we have Iron Maiden's 'Brave New World,' which earned a comfortable victory over Isis' 'Oceanic' in the first round. The album, released in 2000, featured the return of singer Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith and yielded such standout tracks as 'The Wicker Man,' 'Blood Brothers' and 'Ghost of the Navigator,' among others.

Their opponent will be Killswitch Engage's 'Alive or Just Breathing,' which just edged out Deftones' 'White Pony' by the narrowest of margins. This early album featured Jesse Leach on vocals just prior to his exiting the band, but even with the upheaval, such standouts as 'My Last Serenade,' 'Life to Lifelessness' and 'Fixation on the Darkness' have stood the test of time.

So which album is the better 21st century release -- Iron Maiden's 'Brave New World' or Killswitch Engage's 'Alive or Just Breathing'? Vote in the 2014 March Metal Madness Mosh Pit Region poll below.

(This poll will end on Sunday, March 16 at 11:59 PM EST. Fans are able to vote once per hour, so keep coming back to make sure your favorite album wins!)
