You might want to hold onto something. Nickelback just delivered the video for one of the heavier, most aggressive songs of their career. The band just revealed their new video for "The Betrayal Act III" that you can see in the player above.

Nickelback have been receiving credit for one of the heavier albums of their career, with Feed the Machine, and "The Betrayal Act III' definitely feeds into the assessment. Though the song starts with an acoustic open, that's only setting the stage for the blast of rock coming your way. Pulsing Mike Kroeger bass licks and Daniel Adair's jutting drum beats help to build momentum toward a full on blast of aggression as Chad Kroeger raises the intensity, "Demon in your ear / Evil on your breath / You've brought the wolves right here / You've brought the kiss of death," before belting about the ultimate betrayal. The song really picks up in the latter portion, with Kroeger delivering a blistering guitar solo, while fellow guitarist Ryan Peake provides some longing ominous licks, adding to the vibe.

As for the video, it's primarily a performance piece shot in black-and-white as the band enters a rehearsal space only to be separated by a white curtain, with Kroeger on one side and the remainder of the band on the other, often lit in each other's backgrounds through shadows. With each seemingly on their own, it fits the intensity of the track and given the angst-driven energy unleashed, it's fitting that Kroeger ends with a pick flip equal to dropping the mic.

All four members of Nickelback will be together on the right side of that curtain on their upcoming tour dates. The group will return to the road in 2018, starting with a five-night Las Vegas residency at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in late February and early March.
