Nine Inch Nails Debut New Song ‘Find My Way’ Live in Japan
Some very lucky Nine Inch Nails fans in Japan were given the opportunity to see Nine Inch Nails play their first show in four years. Trent Reznor's legendary industrial project played for the first time this decade at the 2013 Fuji Rock Festival, and as if that wasn't amazing enough, Nine Inch Nails debuted the track 'Find My Way' from the project's upcoming album 'Hesitation Marks.'
Nine Inch Nails released an official music video for 'Came Back Haunted' in late June, prepping fans for the release of 'Hesitation Marks' on Sept. 3. 'Find My Way' is a more somber, minimalistic Nine Inch Nails track, not possessing the in-your-face intensity of 'Came Back Haunted.' In fact, 'Find My Way' almost sounds like a cut from Trent Reznor's side project How to Destroy Angels.
Although 'Find My Way' is somewhat warm and sweet, NIN fans should not expect that theme to envelop the entire 'Hesitation Marks' album. “I don’t think it’s a gentle record," Trent Reznor says. "I do think it’s more subversive in how it gets you. It’s not about everything being at 11 and the pyrotechnics of sound and scare tactics, which I’ve definitely used in the past. But it doesn’t feel like the middle-aged, I’ve-given-up record either.”
