Ozzy Osbourne Battling Pneumonia, Cancels More Tour Dates
Ozzy Osbourne has been forced to cancel the Australian, New Zealand and Japan legs of his world tour. Sharon Osbourne also confirmed rumors that Ozzy has been battling pneumonia during his recent hospital stay.
It’s been a rough few weeks for the Prince of Darkness, as the metal icon originally postponed four U.K. tour dates last month. Eventually, the entire European leg of Ozzy’s ‘No More Tours II’ was pushed back and the vocalist was hospitalized with “flu complications.”
Currently, Osbourne is breathing on his own and “doing much better” according to family members, but Ozzy still needs to fully recuperate before getting back on the road. Ozzy was reportedly released from the hospital roughly a week ago.
“Ozzy has announced that he will now cancel shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. This follows news of the postponement of the entire UK and European leg of his “NO MORE TOURS 2” tour on doctors’ orders,” an official statement reads.
“Ozzy recently developed pneumonia and has spent some time in hospital. Thankfully he is now through the worst part,” says Sharon Osbourne. “His doctors have advised that he stay at home to recuperate for a full six weeks with no travel.”
Ozzy Osbourne’s next run of tour dates will take him throughout North America, beginning May 24 at the Rocklahoma Festival in Pryor, Okla.
