Puddle of Mudd Frontman Wes Scantlin Arrested for Allegedly Attacking Ex-Wife
Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin has been arrested for the second time this month, and this time the charges are quite serious. Earlier in May, Scantlin was arrested on a pair of outstanding warrants -- one for driving with a suspended license and the other stemming from a past drug bust -- after he was pulled over by police for allegedly speeding. This time around, it was an alleged domestic disturbance that got the attention of Los Angeles police officers.
TMZ reports that the musician was arrested for allegedly roughing up his ex-wife in front of several witnesses. Police were called to a business in West Hollywood, Calif. around 3:30 in the afternoon when they were tipped off to the singer allegedly shaking his ex-wife and the dragging her by the arm or shirt. When police arrived, they spoke to witnesses and the victim before deciding to arrest the vocalist.
Scantlin and his ex-wife have had a tumultuous history. The frontman filed for divorce from model Jessica Nicole Smith in November 2011 and signed the divorce papers in May 2012 with a pair of smiley faces. Earlier this year, Jessica reported her car was missing and sought out Scantlin's manager to see if the vocalist had any involvement. Though the manager claimed the singer didn't take the vehicle, it was returned to the location she requested several hours later with some bumper damage and missing a side view mirror.
Scantlin is reportedly in custody with bail set for $20,000.
