Puddle of Mudd’s First New Release in Years ‘Coming Very Soon’
It's been eight years since Puddle of Mudd last released their re: (disc)overed covers collection, five years since the stand-alone single "Piece of the Action," and a full decade since they last graced us with their last full album of original material on 2009's Vol. 4: Songs in the Key of Love and Hate, but it looks like the Wes Scantlin-led band is ready to end the recording drought with new music en route.
The band just dropped a new video teaser with the key info: "Puddle of Mudd New Release Coming VERY Soon 2019" with a series of hashtags signaling the different styles of music they play, some past hit songs and the key hashtag, #newrelease.
For those who've followed the band, it's been a tumultuous decade as Scantlin has dealt with a series of public meltdowns and legal woes. But last July, the singer revealed that he had been "11 months sober" as the band announced their intent to return to touring.
"I feel great. And we're just playing shows [and] rocking," stated Scantlin last summer. During a chat with 100.5 The KATT back in December, the vocalist alluded to the fact that his band had been in the studio working on new music. "We're coming out with a new record and it's really badass. We worked our butt off on it, and I can't wait to get it out. Coming soon," stated the rocker.
Now it appears as though the long journey back is nearly complete with Puddle of Mudd offering their first video teaser for new music. The band also has plenty of touring lined up, currently in the midst of a run that touches down in New Bedford, Mass. this evening (May 23). See all of their dates here.
