It’s been 15 years since Uma Thurman last shed blood as Beatrix Kiddo, but the Kill Bill slaughterfest may actually continue. According to director Quentin Tarantino, he’s spoken to Thurman about reprising her now-iconic character for a third film.

The Kill Bill Volumes 1 & 2 were both wildly popular, raking in over $330 million at the box office in 2003 and 2004, respectively. The story of a bride out for revenge captivated audiences and empowered women worldwide, while showcasing some of the most ultra-violent scenes to ever see a wide theatrical release.

Guesting on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Tarantino spoke about the possibility of a third Kill Bill. “Me and Uma have talked about it recently, frankly, to tell you the truth,” the director revealed. “I have thought about it a little further. We were talking about it literally last week. If any of my movies were going to spring from my other movies, it would be a third Kill Bill.” [via Screencrush]

Tarantino’s latest film is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. The director’s first feature since 2015’s The Hateful Eight will be released July 26 in the U.S.

As for Thurman, she’s taken slightly more pacifistic since hanging up her Hanzo sword, starring in The Con Is On and Down a Dark Hall in 2018.
