Hot off the presses comes the video for 'The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie,' the first single off the Red Hot Chili Peppers' new album, 'I'm With You,' which drops Aug. 30. The clip is slated to debut tonight (Aug. 17) on TV at exactly 7:53PM ET as part of the 'MTV First: Red Hot Chili Peppers' special, but apparently was too hot to wait until then.

The clip starts off with Anthony Kiedis and the boys plugged in and rocking on a rooftop in Venice Beach, Calif. -- not exactly the most original premise, as everyone from the Beatles to U2 to Limp Bizkit have done exactly that -- as throngs of fans and beach freaks line up for blocks, straining their necks to catch a glimpse and getting their dance on in the process.

Kiedis, sporting his furry porn-star mustache, 'OFF!' trucker cap and a blazer over his shirtless torso, soaks up the late-afternoon sun and the adulation of fans as the Peppers plow through the song's first verse, building things slowly but surely. By the time drummer Chad Smith clunks the song's syncopated cowbell beats before the chorus, everyone is quivering in anticipation.

And then it comes: the rhythm section of Smith and bassist Flea up the intensity, newest Pepper Josh Klinghoffer steps in with his soaring, string-bending fretwork, and Kiedis unleashes his call to bring some moisture to the proceedings: "Hey now / We've got to make it rain somehow."

From there, the video plods along with much of the same, with the lone remaining question being: will the heavens give in to Kiedis' rain dance and unleash a downpour? To find out, you have to watch the video:
