Rob Zombie Casts Doyle as Frankenstein for New Music Video
For those who have pondered the mysteries behind former Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein's verbose moniker, the answer may lie within Rob Zombie's next music video. In what seems to be the obvious choice, the horror mastermind has tapped the hulking six-stringer to play, yes, Frankenstein!
That's right, Doyle will be living up to his name, or at least part of it, in the music video for "The Hideous Exhibitions of a Dedicated Gore Whore." The cut comes off Rob Zombie's newest record, The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Celebration Dispenser, out later this month on April 29 through UMe/T-Boy Records. The frontman posted a picture of a costumed Doyle and himself on Instagram, which can be seen below.
Rob Zombie has already unleashed a quirky video for the album's leading single, "Well, Everybody's F--king in a U.F.O." and more music videos are in the works. An equal opportunity entertainer, the frontman has also recently filmed videos for "The Life And Times of a Teenage Rock God” and “In The Age of the Consecrated Vampire We All Get High." More images from the shoots can be found on Zombie's Instagram page.
Playing his first Hollywood club show since 2009, Rob Zombie took the stage at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip over the weekend (Friday, April 8) with a stripped down version of his usually elaborate stage setup. The set still featured plenty of entertainment from Zombie and his band, including a variety of custom guitars and even a guest appearance from Doyle's onetime bandmate, the legendary Glenn Danzig. The icon joined the band for a cover of Misfits' "Vampira." Click here to read a review of the show and for photos from the set.
In what looks to be a monster summer, Rob Zombie will be teaming up with Korn for a co-headlining trek across North America. The run begins on July 19 and will also feature In This Moment. A full list of stops can be found at our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
