A little over a week ago, a teaser clip appeared online for a new group called Saint Asonia touting the fact that the band's players had a part in 26 Top 10 rock singles and 17 No. 1 songs. And while it was pretty clear from the video that the group was to be led by vocalist Adam Gontier, formerly of Three Days Grace, the rest of the band was still somewhat of an unknown. But the mystery is ready to be solved.

Gontier is indeed fronting Saint Asonia, with a band that includes Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, Stereomud and Dark New Day bassist Corey Lowery and Finger Eleven drummer Rich Beddoe.

And while the title "supergroup" has already been tossed around, Gontier says, "Truth is we're more like refugees that just really hit it off creatively. " Mushok adds, "I was looking for a project to do while Staind is on hiatus and the opportunity to work with Adam on writing and recording new music was something I just couldn't pass up."

The band secured acclaimed rock producer Johnny K. (Disturbed, Megadeth, Staind, Sevendust) to oversee the production of their debut disc, which is currently in its final stages of completion. The album is expected to drop this summer. But to give fans a little taste, the new single "Better Place" has been revealed. Take a listen to the track in the player above, stream it at Spotify or purchase it at iTunes.

And look for Saint Asonia hitting the road in the near future. Dates will be revealed shortly.
