Seether’s Shaun Morgan Expresses Desire to Perform With Surviving Nirvana Members
The semi-resurrection of Nirvana proved to be one of the most exciting reunions of the 21st century. Seriously, how can you beat writing 'Cut Me Some Slack' with Paul McCartney and performing with a myriad of female singers at the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? The Nirvana project has been dormant lately, but Seether frontman Shaun Morgan has shared his desire to collaborate with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear.
Morgan certainly isn't looking to run away from Seether. The band continues to enjoy massive popularity, most recently on the back of 'Isolate and Medicate,' Seether's sixth studio album.
In a recent interview with Alternative Nation, Shaun Morgan shared his passion for Nirvana. "All the songs on 'Nevermind' would be my favorites because they're the ones that made me pick up a guitar," explained Morgan. When asked if he would be interested in playing with Nirvana's surviving members, Morgan answered, “It would be something that I would love to do, but it’s not something that anyone has ever asked me to do. Obviously, just from being a kid, even just to play a show with those guys would be great. But it’s not something that I’ve ever been approached about doing, but obviously as a childhood dream, it would be great to be on stage with those guys.”
Morgan also sounded off on pop star Lorde's controversial Best Rock Video win at the 2014 VMA's. "I've become a little disillusioned with popular music," Morgan said. "A perfect example is Lorde winning Best Rock Video at the VMA’s. That just doesn’t make any g-d damn sense to me.”
Seether are currently wrapping up their spot on the 2014 Uproar Tour. With only a few days of rest afterward, the band will tear up North America and Europe to close out the year. Check out Seether's tour dates here.
