Shinedown are digging deeper into their 'Amaryllis' album, moving on to 'Through the Ghost' as their next featured track. The band just released a video for the song, which primarily stars frontman Brent Smith.

The clip makes great use of light and silhouettes as Smith wanders through a darkened forest in search of a young woman who appears to be hidden away in a dark cave with a ray of light shining in. Throughout the entire video, we only see the woman in silhouette form until the very end when she finally turns away from the trance-inducing ray of light.

As for the song itself, it appears as the closing number on Shinedown's 'Amaryllis' album. It's more of a mid-tempo ballad, making use of a backing string section filled with violins, violas, cello and bass. 'Through the Ghost' follows 'Bully,' 'Unity,' 'Enemies,' 'I'll Follow You' and 'Adrenaline' as songs receiving attention off the album.

Though Shinedown seem to be going strong on 'Amaryllis,' Brent Smith recently told 'Loudwire Reloaded' host Sandman that the band has started working toward their next release. He explained, "We’ve already gone into the studio and started writing what we consider to be Shinedown number five. Now, of course, it doesn’t have a title yet, but we’ve already started writing again. And a lot of that is because when you’re writing a record you’re in a moment in time at that place in your life and we’ve never been a band to rest ‘quote unquote’ on our laurels."

The vocalist continued, "We’re always trying to out do what we already have done because we always want to climb a bigger mountain. If we reach the peak and reach the top of one mountain it feels good to have accomplished it but usually we just go look for a bigger mountain afterwards to climb. So, for us, we were in a different place personally and where we are with the band. We’re in a very healthy place, but we have other things that we want to talk about with new material and we want to write new material."

The band even found time out for Smith and guitarist Zach Myers to step away for an acoustic covers project. Check out their rendition of Bon Jovi's 'Wanted Dead or Alive' by clicking the button below.
