Soulfly Reveal ‘Archangel’ Track Listing, Artwork + Release Date

Soufly have gotten all their ducks in a row for their upcoming album. Frontman Max Cavalera recently revealed that the band's next disc would be titled Archangel, and now the group has revealed the full track listing, artwork and nailed down a release date.

You can look for Soulfly's 10th studio album, Archangel, to arrive on Aug. 14 worldwide via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The group teamed up with artist Eliran Kantor to create the artwork for the disc. The album art is featured in this post.

"I am so proud to be releasing Soulfly's tenth album," says Cavalera. "I feel it is my most mystic album since Prophecy. The guest collaborations have always been a trademark of Soulfly and Archangel is no different! We can't wait to play this live for the worldwide tribe!"

As Cavalera stated, there will be collaborations. Todd Jones of Nails turns up on a track called "Sodomites," King Parrot's Matt Young is featured on "Live Life Hard!" and the song "Mother of Dragons" includes guest appearances from Incite's Richie Cavalera, Lody Kong's Igor Cavalera and Anahid M.O.P.

As for the artwork, Kantor reveals himself to be a longtime fan, so much so that when he was married "Territory" was one of the songs played at the wedding dance party. He added, "Max asked me to do a traditional piece depicting Archangel, Michael and I tried to go beyond the straight-up neo-classical style as that has been perfected centuries ago, so I mixed in Soulfly's own visual world: hence the wings and spear being shaped like the Soulfly tribal icon, the cliff with the ocean view just like on the first record, and the Brazilian flag being the core of it's color scheme."

Archangel is available in single disc and special edition options. For the latter, fans will also receive a 2014 concert DVD filmed during the band's appearance at Hellfest.
