Ted Nugent talked himself into an unusual predicament after some open-ended and controversial remarks about Barack Obama at a National Rifle Association Rally last weekend. As a result, the Secret Service will be meeting with Nugent today (April 19) to discuss his comments.

"If Barack Obama becomes President in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year." We recently reported on Nugent spewing out that line at an NRA Rally, but what exactly does it mean? Is it just a nonsensical, exaggerated comment? Or is there true meaning behind it? The Secret Service is certainly curious to find out as they meet with Nugent today.

To clear the air on his statement, Nugent visited America's voice of reason, Glenn Beck, to discuss the Secret Service meeting on Beck's radio show. "We actually have heard from the Secret Service and they have a duty," says Nugent. "I support them. I salute them. And I look forward to our meeting tomorrow." Nugent went on to say: "I've never threatened anybody's life in my life. I've never threatened. I don't waste breath threatening."

He continues, "We're going to have a little barbecue get-together. I'm not trying to diminish the seriousness of this, because if the Secret Service are doing it, they are serious. They are dedicated and I will be as polite and supportive as I possibly can be, which will be thoroughly."

The Romney camp has even released a statement, distancing themselves from Nugent. Romney spokewoman Andrea Saul stated, "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from. Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil."

Stay tuned for more news on Nugent-gate. We have a feeling this may not be the last update on the topic, unless Ted Nugent mysteriously disappears.
