Today, we pay tribute to one of the greatest music videos ever made, period. This video for Twisted Sister's anti-authoritarian anthem 'We're Not Gonna Take It' is one of hair metal's brightest gems, inviting the world's youth to join them in rock 'n' roll anarchy. Today is also the 54th birthday of Twisted Sister drummer A.J. Pero, so with those elements in mind, we present you with our Video of the Day.

The Beastie Boys may have fought for their right to party and Rage Against the Machine's Zack de la Rocha may have screamed, "F--- no, I won't do what you tell me!" but before those trailblazers came Dee Snider, who personifies the spirit of rebellion in the clip for 'We're Not Gonna Take It.'

Iconic in a similar nature to Megadeth's 'Peace Sells' video, 'Were Not Gonna Take It' begins with a parental figure berating his son for getting into heavy metal. 'Animal House' actor Mark Metcalf portrays a similar role to his Neidermeyer character for the Twisted Sister vid, yelling, "What do you wanna do with your life?!" before his young rocker son blasts him out the window by sound after proclaiming, "I wanna rock!"

The kid promptly turns into Dee Snider, who along with his fellow Twisted Sister bandmates, terrorize the suburban home while continuing to injure poor ol' Metcalf in slapstick fashion. The clip is also inter-twined with footage of the band onstage, but the real show happens within the home.

The 'We're Not Gonna Take It' video is so damn good that even though it was made well before the YouTube era, the clip has gathered up nearly 7 million views on YouTube.

Happy Birthday, A.J. and thanks to the entirety of Twisted Sister for this iconic clip.
