THIS is how to raise your kids properly. Just give your youngster a guitar, bass or drum kit, find them some fellow deathcore musicians, and they'll start making some bank in the city that never sleeps. Soon, you'll tell your boss to "take this job and shove it" while your prodigal child becomes metal royalty through brutal breakdowns and sick shredding.

This youthful metal trio is Brooklyn's own Unlocking the Truth, a band comprised of 11-year-olds who have taken the streets of Times Square by storm. The group is made up of guitarist Malcolm Brickhouse, drummer Jarad Dawkins and bassist Alec Atkins. Although Unlocking the Truth have a few videos up online, including a performance of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' and a successful amateur night performance at Harlem's famed Apollo Theater, this public deathcore display has given the group a viral video.

When the Beatles took to the rooftop of Apple Records for a surprise public show in 1969, many business-types were annoyed by the hubbub of pesky guitar rock, so we can't even imagine how some NYC socialites must have reacted to Unlocking the Truth. Luckily, lots of people passing by the band stopped to take in the brutality, supporting the kid group with raucous applause and cheers.

Unlocking the Truth are currently working on their third and fourth studio albums, which are expected to be completed in summer 2013. The group's influences include Motionless in White, Escape the Fate, Slipknot, Metallica, Disturbed and many others.
