69-Year-Old ‘Grindmother’ Announces 2017 U.S. Tour
If you're not familiar with the Grindmother, she's a 69-year-old from Canada who is among the latest of bloomers, getting turned onto extreme metal in recent years thanks to her son. With one EP under her belt, she's hitting the road for a brief U.S. tour!
In support of last year's Age of Destruction EP, the three-piece outfit will kick off their tour on March 23 in Valapariso, Ind., hitting a number of midwestern cities before venturing westward for California, working back through the middle of the country, finishing up in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 9. See all the stops below.
The group is comprised of the Grindmother on vocals (more like vokills!), her son RainForest on guitar and drummer Tyson Apex. Amped up for the tour, the band exclaimed on Facebook, "Tour starts next week!! Playing 14 more cities including a few on the West Coast! Hope to see all my grindchildren out in full force!!!"
What started off as a bit of a joke where the now-dubbed Grindmother laid down some extreme vocals with Corrupt Leaders, her son's grind / crust band, the collaborative efforts morphed into something even more unexpected with the full Grindmother band. In late 2015, Grindmother released their first music video for "Any Cost."
