If dark murder folk is your thing, then this summer just got a lot better with the news that Amigo the Devil and Murder By Death will be joining forces for a U.S. tour.

The two acts were originally set to share the stage in 2020, but the pandemic laid those plans to waste, and now they're reattempting the run with support coming from Samantha Crain from Aug. 5 through Aug. 22, after which Katacombs will open the remaining dates through the Sept. 11 finish.

Amigo the Devil, the moniker under which creative head Danny Kiranos operates, last released Born Against, his second album, in 2021, which included the standout cut "Murder at the Bingo Hall," which premiered right here at Loudwire. As for Murder By Death, their ninth full length, Lonesome Holiday, came out in 2020.

Commenting on the summer jaunt, Amigo the Devil said, "It’s a total joy to put this tour together with a band that I’ve loved and looked up to forever. As heartbreaking as it was pausing the initial 2020 tour together for lockdown, we knew it would be even bigger and better when the right time came around… VOILÀ, let’s party!”

Murder by Death frontman Adam Turla added, “Grateful to be back on the road playing all these gorgeous venues with Amigo the Devil (finally). This is our only tour this year and we are gonna put everything into it."
