Avenged Sevenfold are headlining the UPROAR festival for the second year in a row and the Orange County band is teaming up with the tour's organizers and Hartford, Conn. radio station WCCC to help raise funds for specific organizations in relation to the tenth anniversary of 9/11.

The band, the tour and the station want to respectfully remember one of the most emotionally poignant and sombre days in American history by offering financial assistance to key foundations that have assisted civil servants like firefighters, police officers and their families. To do so, the band and UPROAR will match dollar-for-dollar donations made up to $10,000 through WCCC up until Sept. 11. Donations can be made here.

The Sept. 11 date of UPROAR takes places at the Comcast Theatre in WCCC's home base of Hartford. At that time, checks will be presented. One check will be given to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, whose mission is to honor and remember those who lost their lives fighting fires and to provide support for their survivors by way of scholarships. The NFFF also offers education programs to prevent line-of-duty deaths. The other check will be provided to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which honors those who protect and serve American citizens. The organization pays special recognition to those who died while doing their jobs.
