Bumblefoot on His Current Guns N’ Roses Status: “There’s Enough Clues Out There”
Prior to Ashba's exit, there were questions about Bumblefoot, who released a solo album titled Little Brother Is Watching back in February. The guitarist also makes a guest appearance on the Metal Allegiance album, recorded with Art of Anarchy and has been quite active with other projects of late.
Though he's never stated he's left the band, the vague nature of his responses has led to more questions about his status. In a new interview with journalist Gary Graff (excerpted by Blabbermouth), Bumblefoot stated, "That is the thing I am not to elaborate on. I think there's enough clues out there for you to figure out what I'm up to now."
He went on to add, "I'm a real busy guy and really enjoying everything I'm doing, and I think that everything I'm doing has a future and a bigger plan -- the solo stuff, the other bands, the producing, the charity and educational things I'm doing. These are all the things I love that I've really missed, and I'm very happy to be putting my time back into that. It's really what I should be doing."
Meanwhile, drummer Frank Ferrer has given an idea as to the current state of Guns N' Roses while appearing on The Geoff Lennox Show. When asked if Ashba's exit was a result of the band members receiving news from Axl Rose on the future of the group, Ferrer stated, "No, not new news, other than we're still forging ahead … It's not really news. It's, like, there's a plan in place and it's happening, so that's all I can say."
As for Ashba's exit, Ferrer added, "I haven't spoken to DJ, but apparently DJ would just … he'd rather do other stuff right now, which is cool. I mean, everything he said in that letter is true. He has a good relationship with the band members and with Axl. Everything's good."
