Chris Adler to Pull Double Duty on Megadeth + Lamb of God 2015 U.K. Tour
Megadeth and Lamb of God have announced a co-headlining of the U.K. and Ireland tour for November, and on those five dates, Chris Adler will be playing more than your average drummer. The Lamb of God musician, who played drums on Megadeth's upcoming album, will be performing with both bands during the shows (as he confirmed on Twitter below). The dates kick off on Nov. 9 in Dublin. We've listed each show below.
Megadeth recently finished up work on their 15th studio disc. While they haven’t announced a release date yet, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine said in a statement that they can’t wait to play the tunes on tour. "Having just finished an amazing record full of high-energy heavy metal with Chris Adler, Kiko Loureiro and David Ellefson, I am excited to announce this tour and see all of the metal fans come out for this one,” he wrote. “I literally can't wait to hit the stage again."
Lamb of God has a new album on the horizon as well. They are set to release their new disc VII: Strum und Drang on July 24. Frontman Randy Blythe chatted with Full Metal Jackie this weekend about their new album, his dislike of recording in the studio and his Czech Republic imprisonment, which you should definitely read. You can find that here and pre-order VII: Strum und Drang now over on iTunes.
Late last year, drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick left Megadeth and this year Adler and Kiko Loureiro were added to the lineup. In an interview from earlier this month, Adler recently talked about playing in both bands. The drummer said that as soon as he was offered the job, he asked his Lamb of God bandmates their thoughts. He also answered the question of what would happen if he was forced to chose between the two acts.
He revealed, “If ever it came to a point where there was a question of this or that, it’s gonna be Lamb of God. Lamb of God is my baby. Being in Megadeth is kind of like I’m helping babysit somebody else’s kid. I love being there, but it’s not … that’s not where home is to me … Again, if ever a question came up, I’m staying with you guys.”
Those who plan on heading to announced shows can buy tickets for the co-headlining tour starting July 17 at 9AM. Head here to grab tickets.
