Congrats are in order for Duff McKagan. The ex-Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver bassist just received his high school diploma.

The musician got his diploma 30 years after dropping out of Seattle's Roosevelt High School in the 10th Grade. He took to his Twitter account to reveal to fans, "Finally got my high school diploma today. I did the not-so-popular 48-year-plan."

Many fans offered congrats on the occasion, and one of his peers, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, also chimed in with some kind words. Perry stated via his Twitter account, "Congrats to Duff McKagan from me and Billie Perry on your long-awaited diploma."

McKagan, who earned his GED after dropping out, returned to his hometown Tuesday (June 19) to receive his diploma. He also gave a speech at the graduation event.

The bassist has not only achieved success in music but has also become a sought after advisor in the music industry for his financial advice. After completing business school in his 30s, McKagan launched the wealth management company Meridian Rock.
