The awards for six rock, metal and alternative categories have been handed out at the 2023 Grammy Awards where Ozzy Osbourne, Brandi Carlile and Wet Leg all earned two wins each and now fans have reacted online.

In a year where innovative hardcore act Turnstile were up for three awards, the band came up empty, angering their fans who had hopes the Grammys would recognize their achievements in at least one of the categories. Alongside Ghost and Machine Gun Kelly, Turnstile were among a crop of artists competing against giants and some have argued that the more established veterans were the benefactors of some typical popularity contest.

What might have everyone more upset than usual is that this is an era in rock, metal and alternative that is finally seeing relative newcomers garner success as we gain more clarity on just what the future looks like for heavy music once the legacy acts retire. In other words, it's one of the most exciting times for these genres in a long while.

Whatever the case, there's a lot of chatter on Twitter about the results.

Let's see what everyone had to say about this year's winners and losers.

Head to the Grammys website for information on how to watch the events.
