Five Finger Death Punch Reveal Moving Fallen Police Officer-Inspired ‘When the Seasons Change’ Video
Five Finger Death Punch videos have become "must-see" viewing, as the band frequently deliver quality clips with heavy messages. Their latest is the new video for "When the Seasons Change," a clip that centers on two police officers who put their lives on the line in attempting to stop a crime in progress and find themselves under fire. Watch the powerful video above.
Guitarist Zoltan Bathory penned the treatment for the video, which is dedicated to the police officers and first responders around the world who put their lives on the line every day. One officer in particular -- Las Vegas officer and Army veteran Charleston Hartfield -- caught the attention of Bathory. The policeman lost his life in a 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting when he used his body to shield and save others from a hail of bullets.
Bathory says, "Instead of giving you a typical quote about the music video, let me give you some data to ponder ... Medical malpractice is the 3rd leading cause of death in the USA right behind heart-disease and cancer. Some research says an average of 250,000 people die every year because of medical errors. In contrast, police officers make an average of 50 fatal errors annually, that’s 245,950 less - and most of them are due to split-second decisions in high-risk situations. Of course, loss of life is always tragic but we don’t put all medical professionals on blast or call them names, disrespect them and demonize them. Of course not. They’re doing their best and it would be just as ridiculous as the current, grossly unfair rhetoric against police as a whole."
Five Finger Death Punch have turned their focus to police officers during this tour cycle, with the band setting aside money from ticket sales on their summer trek to go to the C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) organization. They recently presented a check for $95,000 to the organization, whose primary mission is to help rebuild the lives of survivors and co-workers affected by those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
"When the Seasons Change" is featured on Five Finger Death Punch's latest album, And Justice for None. The band just wrapped their summer tour leg with Breaking Benjamin, but the two bands will co-headline more dates this fall, with support from Bad Wolves and In Flames on select dates.
