Ghost’s Tobias Forge Writing New Album
Ghost have been making the most of their Prequelle album, but behind the scenes mastermind Tobias Forge has already started looking ahead to the follow-up effort. In a new interview with Billboard, the singer stated that the next album he's been "working on for months now," and already has a timeline for how he'd like things to play out.
"This time around I feel very certain as to what I want to do. I have tons of bits and pieces and stuff written, and I know that once I really start working that there’s going to be a record which feels very inspired. The dramaturgic nature of the records and the stories are getting more and more intertwined nowadays, which I like," says Forge.
He goes on to add, "It’s almost like working with a series, I guess; You have your characters and you can still fuck with them and add new things and take things away. You can do whatever you want, which is always enticing from a creative standpoint.”
The vocalist has plans to be in the studio by the beginning of 2020 with hopes of his next work arriving somewhere later that year.
Forge is currently out on the road with Ghost, taking the "A Pale Horse Named Death" tour to Europe for most of this month. From there, Ghost will travel to Australia, then spend much of the spring and summer back in Europe on tour. At present, their lone U.S. date is May 18 at Chicago Open Air.
