It's a big morning for several acts who have found themselves newly nominated for Grammy Awards. Among them are Rival Sons and I Prevail, who each scored a pair of nominations this year.

I Prevail tweeted shortly after the nominations were revealed, "This is so surreal. We’ve been nominated by the #Grammys for 2 awards. Thank you to everyone who supported TRAUMA this year. Massive shoutout to those who believed in us and helped bring this record to life." I Prevail received nods for Best Rock Album (Trauma) and Best Metal Performance ("Bow Down").

Rival Sons were in flight en route to Denmark when the nominations were being revealed, but shot a video thank you for their fans at the airport. "Just arrived in Denmark and heard the news! 2 #GRAMMYs2020 nominations! So pumped!! Thank you!!," wrote the band.

In their video, guitarist Scott Holiday stated, "We couldn't really be more proud. We're just elated and really want to thank everyone who's been supporting us for at least a decade and everyone who's worked so hard for us."

Singer Jay Buchanan added, "We're over the moon, this is a big deal." Rival Sons received nods for Best Rock Performance ("Too Bad") and Best Rock Album (Feral Roots). Watch the video message below.

Candlemass also offered a statement on their Best Metal Performance nomination for "Astorolus - The Great Octopus," which features Tony Iommi. Leif Edling of Candlemass says, “We are very proud and honored to be nominated for a Grammy! Actually, a couple years ago, we said that the previous album would be the last one, yet here we are with a new record out plus Grammy talk. Wow! Proves that you should never give up. I must also take my hat off to Tony Iommi, who was kind enough to perform an amazing guitar solo on “Astorolus - The Great Octopus”. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We're happy, thrilled, excited… and a bit shocked!”
