The powerful all-girl metal quartet, Kittie rocked the Highline Ballroom in New York City for their album release party in celebration of their new disc ‘I’ve Failed You.’

Not only did the ladies help set up their own equipment but they can play the hell out of their instruments, as well.

Frontwoman Morgan Lander’s vocals were on point and her energy was contagious as fans created a giant circle pit. Drummer Mercedes Lander made fans hearts skip a beat with her thunderous drumming. And hair was flying as bassist Ivy Jenkins and lead guitarist Tara McLeod shredded it up onstage.

Kittie performed new songs, such as the title track ‘I’ve Failed You’ and ‘We Are the Lamb.’ The band also played fan favorites like ‘Never Again,’ ‘Cut Throat’ and ‘Spit,’ just to name a few.

The undercard was solid, as well, with supporting bands such as Dirge Within, Diamond Plate, Alekhine’s Gun and Fall of the Albatross.

Dirge Within played with infectious intensity and quickly gained new fans while entertaining some already loyal fans in the crowd.

Diamond Plate were a youthful group that showed veteran talent, as they had great stage presence on stage and chemistry as a band.

Brooklyn’s own Alekhine’s Gun blew fans away with their vigorous performance, as female vocalist Jessica Pimentel proved she could rock (and growl) with the best of them.

The opener of the night, Fall of Albatross, need to headline more shows. Frontman Ray Hodge is one of the most entertaining frontmen in the metal music scene right now. Their eclectic style of smooth jazz mixed with metalcore works well together and their charm on stage is refreshing.

Overall, Kittie’s album release party for ‘I’ve Failed You’ is a night that many fans will remember as they walked away with new music from one of their favorite bands, as well as discovering new artists to add to their mental musical rolodex.
