It's on! Lacuna Coil have officially entered the studio to start recording their ninth studio album. Co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia revealed the information via an Instagram post, sharing her excitement over the forthcoming album.

"We FINALLY entered the studio to start the recording of new music, today," stated the singer. "I just wanted to stop by to tell you guys that I feel so very happy and on fire (and so are the boys!). I am in LOVE with new stuff and from my black bubble of enjoyment I feel immensely grateful for your constant support: it is because of you all that we are able to do what we love the most on a professional level and I NEVER take all this for granted. I always remember where we came from and fuuuuuck I hope I’ll do this forever and ever!! I can’t wait to let you hear something new!"

The band ended 2018 on a high note with a concert album/DVD and a book release, but last November Scabbia began speaking of working on their next album. At the time, the singer suggested the plan was to shoot for a 2019 release. No official release date has been announced, but with the group now in the recording process, a late 2019 effort could still happen.

Despite their studio obligations on the follow-up to 2016's Delirium, Lacuna Coil have scattered some tour dates in June, July and August, with a gap in touring after that until November. See all their scheduled dates here.
