After a month of fan voting, Megadeth emerged victorious in two big categories in the 2011 Loudwire Music Awards -- Metal Album of the Year and Metal Song of the Year.

The veteran act earned the Metal Album of the Year victory for their 13th album, appropriately titled 'TH1RT3EN.' They beat out some fellow heavy hitters for the award, including Anthrax, Children of Bodom, Machine Head and Mastodon.

In the Metal Song of the Year category, Megadeth's 'Public Enemy No. 1' defeated tunes by Anthrax, Machine Head, Mastodon and Trivium.

While 2011 was a great year for Megadeth, 2012 promises to be even bigger, as the band is set to headline the Gigantour with support from Motorhead, Lacuna Coil and Volbeat. That trek kicks off Jan. 26 in Camden, N.J. Peep the full itinerary here.

Congrats to Megadeth on winning Metal Album of the Year and Metal Song of the Year in the 2011 Loudwire Music Awards! See the voting results below and click on the red button for the next category:
