In a hotly contested battle, Avenged Sevenfold beat out four other bands to nab the Live Act of the Year honor in the 2011 Loudwire Music Awards.

The battle turned out to be a three-way race between A7X, Korn and Papa Roach, with Avenged Sevenfold emerging victorious with 32.5% of the vote.

It is a well-deserved honor for A7X, who were on the road nonstop in 2011 in support of their 2010 album 'Nightmare.' In the summer, they headlined the Uproar Festival with fellow rock heavyweights Seether, Three Days and others.

They followed that up by headlining the 'Buried Alive' arena tour, with up-and-coming acts Black Veil Brides, Hollywood Undead and Asking Alexandria providing support.

In our recent interview with Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows, he told us that the band would take some well-deserved time off in 2012 and then start thinking about the next album.

Congrats to Avenged Sevenfold on winning Live Act of the Year in the 2011 Loudwire Music Awards. See the voting results below and click on the red button for the next category:
