Megadeth's bassist, David Ellefson, can now add "author" to his ongoing list of career accomplishments. In March, Ellefson will release his debut book titled 'Unsung,' which will feature original lyrics, as well as rare, never before seen photos taken throughout his career.

"As a musician, my past lyrical work has always been set to music," Ellefson says about 'Unsung.' "But, with this new book I set out to explore a new medium using both words and images as the canvas for an exciting new mosaic of storytelling."

This is Ellefson's first venture into being an author of a book, but he is definitely no stranger to the world of writing, as he has been part of the core team behind some of Megadeth's most successful tunes to date. The book is said to express the unique diversity of Ellefson's levels of creativity, including showing the dark, light, inquisitive and inspirational sides to the musician.

'Unsung' will encourage the readers to utilize the original lyrics and help them shape their own musical masterpieces, as Ellefson has done for many years since becoming a co-founder of the iconic metal band.

Look for the book to surface in mid-March. 'Unsung' will be available for purchase through Lulu.com, as well as other major online retailers and local bookstores, by special order, following the initial release.
