Metallica’s 30th Anniversary Shows May Feature Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy Kilmister
As the end of their 30th year as a band approaches, Metallica are set to begin a week-long celebration of intimate club gigs at the Fillmore in San Francisco, Calif. Metallica will start their four-day residence at the Fillmore tonight (Dec. 5) with Lemmy Kilmister and Ozzy Osbourne expected to be among the guests.
Metallica's 30-year celebration will take the form of four separate shows on Dec. 5, Dec. 7, Dec. 9 and Dec. 10. The shows are open for official Metallica fan club members only and will include special guests and events, eclectic set lists, rarities and more surprises.
According to Blabbermouth, frontman James Hetfield shared his excitement with 'The Pulse Of Radio' about the upcoming dates. "It is a fan celebration," declared Hetfield. "Everyone who's come along the Metallica ride for 30 years — and we're constantly wanting to give to the fans what they don't normally get from some other band or some other connection. So these four shows at the Fillmore are something like that."
Although still unofficial, Hetfield told 'The Pulse of Radio' that he hopes that Ozzy and Lemmy will be special guests sometime during the week.
Metallica have also begun working on their next proper studio album.
