Watch Metallica’s James Hetfield Rock Out to Motorhead While Driving
It's always interesting to discover which bands your favorite artists listen to during their free time. Thanks to a video Metallica posted on their Instagram over Memorial Day weekend, we know James Hetfield is a Motorhead fan. Watch the clip below to hear him rock out singing along to the classic "Ace of Spades."
That scenery is so soothing. And where can we get some of that energy?
Hetfield's Motorhead fandom carried over in a fun way back in 1995 when he and his bandmates appeared as a Motorhead tribute band called The Lemmys, all donning the Motorhead frontman's signature look, at Lemmy Kilmister's 50th birthday party.
If you're not catching videos of Hetfield singing in his car or on tour with Metallica, you can watch him portray a highway patrol officer in the new Netflix movie about the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. According to the movie's star Zac Efron, the metal frontman "absolutely nailed the part," which included pulling Bundy over and arresting him.
Metallica recently held their second Day of Service with Feeding America, and over 3,000 fans showed up to volunteer for their local food bank. “Thank you for making our second annual Day Of Service a success! We hope that yesterday will serve as year round inspiration and we encourage you to get out and give back in any way that you can, any day of the year," the band said in a statement following the event.
The thrashers are heading to Europe in June for a Hardwired tour leg supported by Ghost, followed by a brief fall Australian tour leg with Slipknot. See the dates here.
