Metallica and Lou Reed Announce ‘Lulu’ New York Listening Session Contest
Can't wait for Nov. 1 to hear the Metallica / Lou Reed collaborative album 'Lulu?' Why not listen to the album in style -- with Metallica and Lou Reed themselves?
That can be a reality by entering a new contest for a chance to win passes to a 'Lulu' listening party that will take place a week before the album drops. The winner will receive transportation for two to New York, hotel accommodations for two nights in the city and two passes to an Oct. 24 listening party, during which fans will get to join Metallica and Lou Reed to experience 'Lulu' in all its Lu-tific glory.
"Be among the first to hear the upcoming release 'Lulu' at an intimate listening session with Lou Reed and Metallica ... and an opportunity to meet the guys," says a post on Metallica's Facebook page. Sounds amazing, although it's worth noting that Metallica and Reed aren't billing it as a "listening party" -- the traditional term for such events -- considering James Hetfield's recent comments on 'Lulu.' "It's not party rock, that’s for sure," he said of the disc.
Regardless of what it's called, any chance to meet Metallica is indeed a party, and a free trip to New York to do so only ups the rock quotient to 11. Enter the contest here and if you win, remember who told you about it. Loudwire would definitely be honored to be your esteemed guest to the big party session!
