Update: The Metallica 'Now That We're Live' rehearsal event already happened. Watch the archived video above.

Practice makes perfect! You've seen Metallica deliver solid live show after solid live show and part of the reason for that is the preparation that goes into it. Come next week, Metallica will pull back that curtain on their rehearsal a little more with the "Now That We're Live" Facebook Live event which will take viewers inside their rehearsal for their summer tour.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 9 at 9PM ET and it will be available to view on computers, tablets, mobile devices and any way in which you reach the Internet. You can watch event live as it happens via Metallica.com or via the band's Facebook page, where they'll showcase a few songs and give you a look at the all-new massive production for the summer tour.

In addition, Metallica are allowing a few lucky Fifth fan club members to witness the rehearsal in person. For details on how you could be at the special event seeing it live as opposed to through your computer screen, click here.

"We are psyched to share some of our rehearsals and final pre-production run-through with our friends around the world, and we hope you'll come hang with us as we fire up the engines for the North American Summer run," says drummer Lars Ulrich of the online event.

And, if you do decide to check it out, the band is making it possible for you to donate on Facebook Live to their All Within My Hands Foundation, which provides funding for a cross-section of national, local and Bay Area charities that the band members support. Among those receiving funding include music education programs and local food banks.

Metallica will be hitting the road this summer with Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat. In addition, recent "Hit the Stage" contest winners Local H will be joining the lineup for five dates on the run. Metallica are supporting their Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct album. Dates for the "WorldWired" tour can be seen below.
